Take a trip to one of the world's natural wonders—Lake Toba, tucked away in the volcanic highlands of North Sumatra. This amazing crater lake, with the magical island of Samosir at its center, offers an unforgettable experience where nature, culture, and history come together.

Highlights
  • Marvel at the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Lake Toba
  • Visit traditional Bataknese villages and discover their unique houses
  • Explore the ancient tombs and rich history of the Batak people
  • Cruise across the vast expanse of the world's largest volcanic lake
  • Experience the welcoming culture of the Toba Batak community

Full Description
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Medan, heading south through vast expanses of oil palm and paddy fields. As you travel along the toll road, enjoy the lush green views along the way. The road then climbs towards Parapat, a lovely lakeside town that's the gateway to Lake Toba.

When you get to Parapat, hop on a ferry to Samosir Island, which is right in the middle of Lake Toba. Samosir Island is a cultural gem, home to the fascinating Batak people known for their weaving, wood carving, and iconic stone tombs. Next, we'll visit the village of Tomok, where we'll see the ancient tomb of King Sidabutar. It's surrounded by traditional Batak houses with their distinctive boat-shaped roofs.

After you've had a chance to explore the rich cultural heritage of the Batak people, enjoy a relaxing cruise on the beautiful, clear waters of Lake Toba, taking in the incredible volcanic scenery. After the lake tour, head back to Parapat and then drive back to Medan, arriving in the evening.
